Extra Large Lenses can be used in radio astronomy, radar systems, projectors, spotlights, and solar energy concentrators. For Instance, a modern application is the use of relatively large lenses to concentrate solar energy on relatively small photovoltaic cells, harvesting more energy without the need to use larger, more expensive, cells.
Alpha Opticss provides extra large lenses that are designed to meet the stringent requirements of industry applications. The large lenses are manufactured to minute tolerances to ensure minimum wavefront error and polished to accurate surface finish to minimise scatter and unwanted diffraction.Alpha Opticss has the capability to manufacture lenses with diametre above 100mm.
